Jasmine Hill Gardens and Outdoor Museum, also known as “Alabama’s Little Corner of Greece,” nestles against the southernmost ridge of the Appalachian Mountains near Wetumpka. One of central Alabama’s hidden gems, the more than 20 acres of botanical grandeur is secluded just off U.S. Highway 231 north of Montgomery. Here, majestic Greek and Roman statues tower above beds of blossoming flowers and foliage. Cobblestone walking trails crisscross the property, which has been thoughtfully planted to bloom continuously year-round. A tour in August provides an entirely different aesthetic experience from the sights and scents of April.
